Diversity is sport, but not only.

The majority of the general public and the media agree that we have had a memorable Olympic Gamesand, on their momentum, Paralympic Games that have been just as galvanizing.

During the events, which often crowned with medals, I was delighted, like the majority of French people, to see the diversity of our athletes highlighted in this way. Beyond their skin color, their background, their disability, we celebrated their incredible performances.

Suddenly, the diversity of origins was no longer a subject of debate, but the panache of a living, colourful population, rich in its differences, was glorified. We saw the eyes of women and men, often with singular backgrounds, with diverse origins, so proud and moved to defend the same standard.

Judokas (thank you Teddy!), swimmers (thank you Léon!), surfers (thank you Kauli!), boxers (thank you Sofiane!)… the Games were a showcase of human diversity. This strain isn’t just cosmetic, it’s at the very heart of performance
sportswoman. Each individual and cultural experience brings a unique style to the competition. My personal background and my family environment echo this multicolored panel.

I am a Catalan expatriate, “an immigrant in France” as some members of my family like to humorously point out. I married a Franco-Algerian woman.

My two sons married, for one, a Franco-Algerian, for the other an Italian (and I am delighted to have Franco-Algerian and Franco-Italian grandchildren) And, to complete this family melting pot, my last son is of Brazilian origin.

I am therefore well placed to observe the human richness that diversity represents.
I don’t see my family members through the prism of their skin tone, their origins, their maternal culture. They are the components of a family unit that I love, and which, without distorting me, have contributed to enriching my being to build the man that I am. A man “augmented” by this diversity.

I also see it as a great metaphor for the environment in which I have been working for years: that of the company in general and interim management in particular.

In the company , there are also quite natural backgrounds, plural origins that are led to work, reflect and communicate together in the name of the same objective. Where society seems to be increasingly compartmentalized, tense by a discourse of identity, the company favors skills, values talent and the person in his or her essence and singularity. It sets an example for us through its ability to bring together profiles, backgrounds, and generations that are moving forward, in good understanding, in the same direction.
